Fashion SOS

SOS~ help my jeans are too long.....
This is what to do if jeans are too long!
OK so, ya you know, most of us only get to choose one length only!
Unless you are buying western style jeans (they have more sizes in length)!
Here is an answer for SOS ~ help my jeans are too long!

I took my jeans and cut off the extra.
Then I sewed two rows at the bottom hem.

Now you can leave them like this and fray the ends.
Or you can add bling... I went with Pom-Pom Fringe!
You can do anything, fur, ribbon, fringe, tassels, leather,
felt, jewelry, or grommets. Have fun!
OK with Pom-Pom fringe I just sewed it on single stitch.
Go slow so poms don't get caught under sewing foot.

You know it all done!

SOS~ Help my muscle shirt is boring!

This is what you do if muscle shirts are too boring.
OK so ya, take a pair a scissors, and cut the shoulder
out and cut the back out, around the neck band.
Then cut the neck band in the back to make ties!
Here are some photos for what I did to my
boring muscle shirt.

Cutting out the shoulder.

Here is the front.

Here is the the back with the shoulders
cut out now I will cut out more of the neck
band and scoop the back.

You know it all done! Front

The back now ties!

You can bling it too with crochet, beads,
or grommets!!

SOS ~ help I need a cool but warm clothing accessory.
Oh this is perfect for today!! I stayed home from school today~
Cheer for snow days! It is -50 with the wind chill.... burr....

Wow~ you know I have something that you will just be amazed
at how much fun this scarf is to make! My Mom's friend Jean is a
fiber artist! How cool is that!

My friends Fashion Nerd and Artist World came over last night
to join my mom, Jean, and myself on a fiber art adventure!
We learned how to make a scarf by weaving and then personalizing
it with my favorite bling!!! Oh Ya... Cool right... I know!

You will need yarn, if you don't have yarn a too small sweater,
or second hand sweater find will work.
You just unravel it like this:

Now you need cardboard or a clip board, scissors, a tapestry needle,
feathers, fancy yarns, ribbon, or any thing that blings!

Now with your yarn measure how long you want your scarf and cut five
strands to this length. Then leaving some end for dangle.... clip end into
clip board like so:

OK, so now keep the five strands separated, wrap at angle
around clip board like so, then tape the end to the board.
Here is mine brown yarn, my moms blue yarn.

Front:

Back of clipboard:

Take your needle and thread it with contrasting color yarn.
Now weave it under, over, under , over, under, until making
sure when you finish the last string you start the next one following
pattern so that you don't do unravel it. You do this over and
over until you get to the end of your length. You can change
different colors like we did until you get to the end.

Now wrap the end around the fringe (dangly part) and tie in knots.
Guess what is next?? Ya Right add the bling!!! You can add feather,
fancy yarn, ribbons, just bling away!! Cool right?

SOS~ Help Jessique! My Favorite hoodie has a tear in it!

This is what you do if your hoodie is too boring. Or if you
ripped your favorite hoodie!
OK so ya, take Therm O Web Heat N Bond or any
iron-on adhesive, cut a square of it bigger than your tear.
Find a cool shape and cut it out.
Cutting out the shape.

The shape is yep you guest it a Parrot!

Cut out a square of iron on adhesive. Then lay it on the back of
your fabric. Like so.

Now iron the adhesive to the fabric.

Now take your shape (Parrot) and trace it on to the
iron on adhesive. I flipped it and made two!

Front (top) looks like.

Take your shape (Parrot) and cut them out.

I added a little detail with marker to them. Make sure it permanent!

Peel the backing off the iron-on adhesive.

Place it on the hoodie and iron!

You know it all done!

Here is the hoodie. I just may add more to it!
Photos where taken at a friends art studio!

You can bling it too with crochet, beads,
or grommets!!

SOS~ Help Jessique! I love this shirt but its so boring!
This is what you do if your shirt is too boring.

OK so ya, take your t-shirt and you cut strips about 2 inches long in the sleeves.

Stretch out the loops to make them longer

Then loop up and over with the stips you cut and it makes a sort of braid!
You can go up or down!

Take four buttons, and sew them to the top and bottom of your sleeve like so.
Take the last loop and loop it over the button!

Closeup!
